Meridian Meridian: Our next destination

weekend of January 21 to 23:

We took advantage of last weekend to go to Meridian. This will be the place of next course of Thierry and we'll stay there about ten months. Since our arrival is scheduled for January 31 it was time to find a house to accommodate us.
After 3h30 of road between Pensacola and we arrive at Meridian Erwan (another pilot) and his wife Constance us were housed for the weekend. They already live in Meridian, more exactly Lauderdale, lakeside home to all the other French pilots and their families. It was around this lake that we wanted to find a home. We have an appointment on Saturday morning to visit two houses that Thierry locate on the Internet.
But before we are invited on Friday evening at Mary-Anne and Nick for a really nice dinner aperitif. A good opportunity to get acquainted with everyone and particularly with other women. They are all super nice and we are five in total. I hope we can get out with a lot of girls including shopping trips!

After this little party, we are close to our visits on Saturday. Our first two visits proved inconclusive, the houses are faint and not well maintained. So we decide take a ride around the lake to see if there would be no further announcements in the area. Many houses are for sale for rent but not after several calls we come across an owner who has two other houses for rent and can we do visit. The first is not too bad but with only two rooms and paneling brown all over the walls that really really old!
The second is really nice with a large garden but also a room "living room-kitchen" with a huge fireplace and two large windows overlooking the terrace with views over the garden and lake. There are also three bedrooms and two bathrooms perfect to receive visitors and bébinou. We decide to rent this one before it we not under the nose! And it's really very glad that we returned for lunch at Constance and Erwan. Here are some pictures of the house ...

The house is not furnished, we decided to take advantage the afternoon to go in downtown Meridian to furniture stores. Find a bed and a sofa is quite complicated because the U.S. really tastes horrible (to remain polite) on furniture. The photos speak for themselves ...

Finally, we will not buy anything this afternoon, there's no hurry Thierry ends Thursday at Pensacola and then we open two weeks before that he begins to Meridian.
Saturday evening we are again invited to the housewarming of Aurelia and the Gautier Once, arriving there just a week on the lake. Another great night!

Sunday before departing for Pensacola, will be devoted to a little sleep, then a football in the early afternoon for the guys.

PS: We now have a new mailing address for the next ten months of the year if you want to know please send us an email.
